Our Vineyards Our Merlot vineyard is located at 5796 Dry Creek Road and is located on the valley floor behind our main house which is adjacent to the road. Three distinct blocks are separated by avenues wide enough to turn a mechanical harvester around - these blocks have been both hand and machine harvested. The oldest block, block 1, was planted in 1993 and is clone 3 on St. George rootstock and is closest to Dry Creek Road. The next block west is block 2 and was planted on 5C rootstock with clone 3 on top in 1995. The last block, block 3, is closest to Dry Creek, was planted in 1997 and is clone 3 on 110R. These older blocks are on the Vertical Shoot Positioning trellis system which allows us to easily control sun exposure with mild leafing on the east side.
